I’ve found it tragic mental illness is treated by removing symptoms, not unlike modern medical care in general. The mentally ill may be our coal mine’s canaries. It’s disrespectful to the sufferer when their crises are simply smoothed over and medicated away. Our society’s normal is enough to drive a sane person crazy!

Thanks. I am under no illusion that the level of censorship for authentic ideas and critiques is full gas. Social media is a con. People should get reading books, thinking, reflecting and stop their minds being polluted by the mind worms.

A very long time ago I was sent to a psychotherapist. Session one. I said nothing. Session two. I said nothing. Session three, I said, I've read 3 interesting books, thought a lot about things. Actually, I'm fine. Really fine. Thanks and bye. He was so curious and was dying to know how I was fine, what I'd read. I just told him a personal anecdote. "I went past a field in a bus. I was drawn to a tree, alone in the middle. Dead, leafless, blackened, struck by lightning, but still strangely beautiful. Some years later, I past the same field. The tree was unrecognisable. It hadn't died. Full in leaf, green and recovered with barely a scar.".
He said, "So that's it, a dead but recovered tree and three books?". Yes. That's it.

Wonderful story. Sounds like you dumbfounded your therapist with something profound in your healing that his theories could not explain away.
